Spiced Dulce De Leche Banana Bread

Ingredients 

– 2 ripe bananas, mashed – 1 cup dulce de leche – 1/2 cup butter, softened – 1/2 cup sugar – 2 eggs – 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour – 1 tsp baking soda – 1/2 tsp cinnamon – 1/4 tsp nutmeg – 1/4 tsp salt – 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan. In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth, and set them aside for later use.

Instructions

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the dulce de leche. Mix well.

In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Gently fold in the mashed bananas, ensuring they are evenly incorporated into the batter. If using, add the chopped walnuts and stir them in.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Spread it out evenly, smoothing the top. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack. This ensures the bread holds its shape while cooling.

Slice the bread once completely cooled. Serve as a delicious snack or dessert, savoring the sweet, spiced flavor of the banana bread with dulce de leche.
